This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the grocery sector to drive growth in the category and meet annual sales and commercial spending objectives.
• Activate Category Roadmaps and create customer-centric Category Business Plans using a category-first perspective.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with cross-functional partners to leverage category and shopper insights.
• Lead and mentor the grocery sales team while collaborating with Category Analysts and broker partners.
• Work together with Sales Planning & Strategy, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and key retail clients.
• Devise customer-specific category plans rooted in category growth drivers.
• Present and launch New Item Plans while developing preliminary field forecasts.
• Create customer promotion strategies and predict sales performance.
• Meet sales and trade goals through effective selling and negotiation tactics.
• Regularly engage with customers to implement annual strategies, enhance distribution, activate category initiatives, and address urgent service or quality issues.
• Identify discrepancies between customer plans and feedback, and suggest solutions.
• Ensure the achievement of customer targets and KPIs, such as category growth, sales, trade, customer service, and inventory levels.
• Present Customer Category Plans and Implementation Calendars to customers via strategic business planning.
• Oversee, assess, and drive the execution of customer category plans.
• Propel category growth and surpass performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Category Analysts to enhance category account management capabilities.
• Foster execution excellence through ongoing interactions with broker teams.
• Coach and develop team members to reach sales objectives.
• Demonstrated experience in sales within the grocery sector is preferred.
• Knowledge of the category and major competitors, with a readiness to expand category expertise.
• Familiarity with developing customer-specific strategies for category growth.
• Strong understanding of the interrelationships among key functions and their initiatives, including Marketing, Sales Finance, HR, and Supply Chain.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and construct compelling, data-driven sales narratives.
• Capacity to formulate a customer plan adhering to CAP Guidelines and designated Trade Rates.
• Understanding of Sales Fundamentals related to Pricing, Promotion, Assortment, and Merchandising.
• Knowledge of the Integrated Commercial Planning process.
• Proven track record in sales leadership with a focus on developing personnel.
• Familiarity with customers, market dynamics, relevant channels, and shopper trends.
• At least 3 years of experience working with customers, Sales Planning & Strategy, and Broker teams, achieving critical metrics successfully.
