This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• A corporate foreign exchange and international payments provider based in the UK, assisting UK exporters and importers in managing currency risk, minimizing FX costs, and facilitating cross-border payments.
• We are seeking a Sales Development Representative located in South Africa to generate new business opportunities in the UK market. You will serve as the initial contact for potential clients—UK businesses engaged in importing and exporting—by identifying their FX challenges and scheduling qualified meetings for the sales team.
• This is a proactive role requiring comfort with high-volume outbound activities, confidence in phone conversations, and the ability to engage in commercial discussions about FX with finance directors, CFOs, and treasury managers.
• **Your responsibilities will include:**
• - Conducting outbound prospecting campaigns through phone, email, and LinkedIn directed at UK importers and exporters.
• - Identifying and qualifying decision-makers (FDs, CFOs, MDs, treasury/finance managers) within UK SMEs and mid-market businesses.
• - Communicating the value of corporate FX solutions such as spot contracts, forward contracts, market orders, and international payment services.
• - Arranging qualified discovery meetings and product demonstrations for senior sales personnel.
• - Keeping accurate pipeline data and activity records within the CRM.
• - Researching target industries and companies to create high-quality prospect lists.
• - Collaborating with the sales team to enhance messaging, objection handling, and targeting strategies.
• - Achieving and surpassing weekly/monthly KPIs for calls, emails, meetings scheduled, and pipeline generated.
• - Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in an SDR, BDR, or outbound sales role focused on selling corporate FX solutions to UK businesses.
• - Clear understanding of corporate FX products including spot, forwards, NDFs, options, and international payments.
• - Experience in selling to UK importers, exporters, or businesses with cross-border payment requirements.
• - Proven ability to meet or exceed outbound activity and pipeline targets.
• - Confident and professional phone demeanor with the capability to engage C-suite and senior finance stakeholders.
• - Strong written communication skills for email and LinkedIn outreach.
• - Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms.
• - Self-driven, disciplined, and comfortable working remotely in a dynamic environment.
• - Availability to work UK business hours (GMT/BST).
• **Preferred qualifications:**
• - Experience in a UK FX brokerage, payments company, or fintech.
• - Existing knowledge of UK industries with significant FX exposure (manufacturing, wholesale, e-commerce, agriculture, logistics).
• - Understanding of FCA-regulated environments and compliance aspects related to FX sales.
