Sales Development Manager – Biotech/Pharma

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Drive growth in new business by pinpointing and cultivating sales opportunities within the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

• Establish robust relationships through face-to-face interactions and networking to generate leads and unlock new avenues with biopharma clients.

• Investigate and develop opportunities for service offerings and software sales, including enterprise solutions projects.

• Organize and lead workshops, webinars, and on-site events, such as tradeshows, to engage customers by delivering presentations that highlight ZEISS solutions to enhance sales opportunities.

• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager Team to create and implement effective campaigns that align with ongoing digital initiatives and directly support sales efforts and opportunity generation.

• Utilize networks to assist the Business Development Manager in producing domain-specific and voice-of-customer content.

• Establish and maintain partnerships with biopharma organizations to broaden ZEISS’s market reach.

• Provide insights into the biotech and pharma industries to assist the sales team during KOL meetings, aiding in the closure of key opportunities.

• Remain updated on industry trends and competitor activities to discover new sales prospects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biological Science or related fields.

• A thorough understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.

• At least 2 years of sales experience and/or experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical market.

• A readiness to travel domestically (~70%) and internationally (~10%).

• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently, effectively, and persuasively.

• Proven knowledge of microscopy techniques, their applications, and how they are employed in biotech and pharmaceutical drug discovery and development environments.
