This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• The Virtual Sales Consultant is tasked with promoting the Company’s offerings by forging connections with new and existing clients through telephone, email, and other digital communication methods.
• This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing sales of amenities, textiles, room accessories, paper, janitorial supplies, cleaning products, and FF&E items to hotels, motels, management groups, and other markets within a designated territory.
• The primary objective of the Virtual Sales Consultant is to support the success of the Company’s customers while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the Company.
• Boost sales by deepening account engagement through the analysis of current sales and volume, strategic planning of sales calls, and diligent follow-ups.
• Leverage product knowledge, ROI, and analytical research tools (such as Phocas, GForce, and Salesforce.com), along with sales training resources, to effectively identify new prospects and opportunities.
• Cultivate, maintain, and expand customer relationships through telephone, email, or other electronic means.
• Frequently engage with various internal departments to relay essential information necessary for customer service.
• Keep customers informed about any changes in pricing, items, or relevant information.
• Promptly alert the management team if an existing account is at risk of discontinuation or if issues remain unresolved despite attempts to rectify the situation.
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure customers settle invoices within agreed terms.
• Work alongside appropriate departments to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Accurately predict sales results and trends for a specific sales region.
• Monitor activities and results, collaborate on opportunities, and promote the team selling process using Salesforce (Sysco’s CRM tool).
• Proactively engage in personal learning and development while participating in large group, district, and specialized training programs to enhance consultative selling skills and product knowledge.
• Perform other assigned duties.
• Minimum of 1 year of sales experience is required, demonstrating a proven track record of sales success and notable achievements.
• Experience in hospitality or supply/distribution sales is preferred.
• Background in relationship sales, managing both new and existing customer opportunities, and upselling is preferred.
• Experience with trip planning, territory routing, and account prioritization is preferred.
• Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience is required.
• 1 - 3 years of sales experience with a proven record of sales success and accolades is necessary.
• Experience in the hospitality or distributed supplies industry is a plus.
• Background in relationship sales, managing repeat customer orders, and upselling is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, and professional interactive skills are essential for high proficiency.
• Ability to communicate effectively via email and telephone.
• Capable of presenting information clearly and responding to inquiries from clients, management, and associates.
• Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with others.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and independently execute multiple initiatives while adjusting priorities as needed.
• Time management skills are essential.
• Active listening skills to comprehend and interpret solution-oriented selling.
• Ability to process information and integrate feedback for dynamic business conversations.
• Capacity to effectively communicate ideas and sell various products.

• Familiarity with customer service activities, interdepartmental communications, and general finance concepts is required.
• Understanding of Sysco’s key business metrics and systems is preferred.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are necessary; consistently present at work and on time, ensuring work responsibilities and customer needs are managed during absences. Timely arrival at meetings and appointments is essential.
• Proficient in computer literacy, including maintaining a customer database and skills with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and internet navigation.
• Familiarity with analytical software tools and CRM systems (Salesforce.com) is a plus.
• A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle may be required, as there will be 5-10% travel involved.
