This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Accountable for the marketing and sales of the company’s Long Products Electrics & Automation offerings throughout the Americas Region, encompassing both North and South America.
• Deliver aftermarket support through service and revamp proposals.
• Advocate for the company’s interests on various platforms.
• Oversee the management of proposal writing and editing processes.
• Conduct sales calls and participate in sales events as needed.
• Coordinate projects with team members during the proposal phase.
• Facilitate engineering work necessary for proposal development.
• Generate and refine cost estimates for proposed projects.
• Present technical proposals to potential clients.
• Showcase SMS group technology to prospective customers through technical presentations.
• Liaise with primary vendors for proposal-related activities.
• Formulate and implement marketing strategies targeting customers in the Americas region, which includes managing customer communications and site visits.
• Identify potential projects involving new equipment and aftermarket services, choosing suitable technologies and crafting technical and commercial specifications.
• Manage the company’s Direct Service contracts within the Americas Region, ensuring effective communication between customers and suppliers.
• Provide customer support and maintain relationships with the company’s domestic references.
• Travel is expected to be around 25-40% for customer and supplier meetings or internal company gatherings.
• Supervise up to 3 Sales and Proposal Engineers.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Mechatronics) is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Automation, either as a supplier or an end user.
• Experience in Section/Rail Mills and/or Bar and Wire mills is mandatory.
• Candidates should be self-driven, exhibit creativity, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and work effectively in a diverse team setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficient computer skills are required, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
