This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Suriname.
• Create and implement safety training programs that adhere to industry best practices and operational needs.
• Develop and uphold uniform safety training standards throughout the mine site.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, applying effective safety measures as necessary.
• Provide Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training to enhance team performance.
• Ensure that emergency response teams are adequately trained, prepared, and equipped to handle emergencies.
• Foster safety awareness and compliance through ongoing communication, training, and coaching efforts.
• Perform workplace inspections and audits to assess safety performance and detect potential hazards.
• Prepare, maintain, and review all safety documentation.
• Investigate safety incidents and propose corrective and preventive measures.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
• Professional safety certification or designation is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in safety and training management within a mining context.
• At least 1–2 years of supervisory experience is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mining health and safety regulations, legislation, and industry standards.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Familiarity with emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Valid First Aid certification is required.
• A valid proof of good conduct (‘Bewijs van goedgedrag’) will be required upon selection.
