This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Develops, implements, and manages the SOSi Safety Management Program.
• Performs hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and plans for risk mitigation.
• Ensures adherence to OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Directs safety briefings, training sessions, and awareness initiatives for staff and deployable teams.
• Establishes QA/QC standards, procedures, and performance metrics for ERSS operations.
• Conducts inspections, audits, and evaluations of facilities, equipment, and operational processes.
• Monitors non-conformances, corrective actions, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Maintains necessary documentation for ASPR reporting, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Provides safety oversight during emergency activations, deployments, and surge operations.
• Supports Incident Command or Unified Command structures as a safety advisor or technical specialist.
• Ensures safe operations in field environments, including staging areas, deployment sites, and mobile facilities.
• Oversees environmental controls, hazardous materials handling, waste management, and indoor air quality.
• Guarantees proper usage of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency response gear.
• Manages accident investigations, incident reporting, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborates with operations, logistics, facilities, and medical teams to ensure integrated safety practices.
• Coordinates with federal partners (HHS/ASPR, FEMA, DoW) and local authorities on safety and compliance matters.
• Provides clear and actionable safety guidance to leadership and field personnel.
• Maintains safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and QA/QC documentation.
• Aids in the development of SOPs, safety plans, and quality management plans.
• Prepares reports, dashboards, and briefings for program leadership and government stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, public health, business or public administration, or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in safety management, quality assurance, quality control, or EHS programs.
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and risk management practices.
• Experience in conducting inspections, audits, and safety training.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, operational, or emergency response environments.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret clearance (depending on customer).
