Safety and Loss Prevention Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Carry out loss control surveys and perform physical inspections of commercial accounts.

• Supply underwriters with precise descriptions of insured physical and operational details.

• Recognize hazards and potential loss exposures while suggesting measures to eliminate or mitigate potential loss.

• Collaborate with underwriters and other personnel regarding account and line-of-business acceptability, exposures, and controls.

• Support underwriters and staff with account operations, exposures, construction, and protection.

• Conduct investigations into accidents and analyze losses to determine causes.

• Keep up-to-date knowledge of company and department manuals, procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and other codes and regulations.

• May oversee the work of others by providing mentorship, setting priorities, delegating tasks, and reviewing assignments.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Typically, 6 to 10 years of related experience.

• Certification in the area of expertise is advantageous; examples include CSP, CFPS, ARM, CSHMS, ALCM, or OHST.

• Must be a resident of the Lakeland, Florida area.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

• Familiarity with Property, Liability, and Casualty lines of coverage.

• Understanding of relevant federal, state, and other applicable codes and regulations.
