This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Serve as the key point of contact for patients and caregivers, offering clear and compassionate education regarding the disease state, available therapy options, access pathways, and support services to empower them during their treatment journey.

• Ensure compliant oversight and streamline access coordination, which includes enrollment in affordability programs, benefit verifications, managing the prior authorization process, and site-of-care logistics, while guaranteeing prompt therapy initiation and adherence. Proactively troubleshoot challenges to simplify the process and deliver comprehensive support.

• Provide personalized patient care by conducting thorough engagements to assess individual needs and create customized education and resource plans. Offer logistical support, including in-person assistance at treatment centers when necessary.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Field Reimbursement, Advocacy, Marketing, etc.) to improve patient experience, tackle access challenges, and align program operations with organizational objectives. Address escalated issues swiftly to maintain a consistent, high-quality patient experience.

• Coordinate with external stakeholders (care coordinators, office staff, infusion sites, etc.) to identify, anticipate, and resolve patient access challenges. Ensure patients and their healthcare teams have the necessary resources and education to navigate therapy access effectively.

• Track market trends, payer landscapes, and regulatory changes to foresee challenges, adjust strategies, and communicate updates to patients, caregivers, healthcare teams, and internal teams.

• Establish strong networks through involvement in advocacy groups, participation in rare disease-related events, and attendance at national conferences.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of patient and community needs, available resources, and national access dynamics to effectively support patients at the regional level with tailored education and assistance.

• Comply with legal and regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, OIG), remain aware of compliance policies, and accurately record and report adverse events and product complaints.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in related positions within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry; previous experience in patient support, account management, reimbursement, HUB/patient services, and/or market access is preferred.

• Proven ability to effectively engage with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, showcasing empathetic listening skills to build trust and nurture ongoing relationships.

• Required experience in rare diseases, buy & bill processes, specialty pharmacy, and provider/hospital operations; prior launch experience is preferred.

• Required experience with specialty or high-cost therapies in either chronic or acute care settings, with a strong preference for individuals experienced in launching new therapies into infusion sites or home infusion.

• Required experience in managing complex patient cases.

• Strong understanding of the evolving patient access landscape, including payer, PBM, and SP interdependencies. Proven expertise with both government and private payers, addressing access and reimbursement challenges, and navigating complex insurance landscapes.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and exhibit strong organizational skills.

• Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA, and OIG guidelines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to manage individual patient cases and report significant regional activities.

• Strong interpersonal skills, grounded in patient-centricity and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of patients, caregivers, HCPs, and the organization.

• Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is preferred.
