Rust Engineer – SPE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Rust.

• Create and oversee APIs and microservices.

• Integrate new services with current systems and platforms.

• Enhance performance across distributed architectures.

• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to convert business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Engage in code reviews and assist in refining engineering standards and best practices.

• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues.

• Enhance observability, monitoring, and internal engineering tools.

• Stay updated with developments, best practices, and advancements in the Rust ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Rust programming, including concepts such as ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and asynchronous programming (e.g., Tokio, async/await).

• Experience in building backend services and APIs, preferably using Rust-based frameworks (Actix, Axum, Rocket) and microservice architectures.

• Comprehensive understanding of systems programming principles including memory management, concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimization.

• Practical experience with databases and data storage (SQL/NoSQL, schema design, query optimization) along with messaging/streaming systems is a plus.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) for service deployment and operations.

• Familiarity with modern software development methodologies, including Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability tools.

• Ability to collaborate closely with product, data, and AI teams to integrate Rust services into larger systems and translate requirements into technical designs.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with effective written and verbal communication skills.
