This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
• Design and sustain simulation environments and tools utilizing Unity, Unreal Engine, or equivalent platforms.
• Create adjustable scenarios, agents, sensors, environmental factors, mission events, and testing environments.
• Facilitate simulation across autonomous surface vessels, drones, ground vehicles, and multi-agent systems.
• Construct realistic agent behaviors, traffic patterns, environmental conditions, and edge-case scenarios.
• Leverage real-world field data, logs, and testing results to enhance simulation accuracy and relevance.
• Develop closed-loop simulation workflows for autonomy and mission software.
• Assist with SIL, HIL, replay, regression testing, and automated scenario assessments.
• Integrate simulation environments with autonomy stacks, mission software, command-and-control systems, sensor models, and data pipelines.
• Establish automated testing capabilities to detect regressions and confirm system behavior prior to field deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to replicate field failures and intricate operational scenarios in simulation.
• Create tools for scenario generation, simulation orchestration, automated testing, visualization, debugging, and results analysis.
• Enhance the repeatability and scalability of simulation-based testing.
• Support automated and large-scale execution of simulations.
• Develop interfaces and workflows to foster engineering adoption.
• Maintain documentation, examples, and best practices for internal simulation tools.
• Collaborate with Autonomy, Software, Perception, Product, Field Operations, and Program teams.
• Convert engineering, testing, and operational requirements into simulation capabilities.
• Integrate field-testing and deployed-system feedback into simulations.
• Assist in reducing field-test cycles, expediting development, and enhancing system reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Simulation, Game Development, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in developing simulation software, robotics simulation, game-engine environments, developer tools, or automated test infrastructure.
• Practical experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar 3D simulation platforms.
• Proficient programming skills in C++, C#, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience in creating configurable environments, scenario systems, agent behaviors, or automated testing tools.
• Familiarity with closed-loop simulation, SIL, HIL, replay testing, or automated system assessment.
• Experience integrating complex software systems across simulation, data, and robotics workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• Capacity to work independently and take ownership in a dynamic, ambiguous engineering setting.
• Enthusiasm for creating tools that empower engineering teams to accelerate their pace and deliver more dependable systems.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Nice to have: experience simulating autonomous vehicles, sensors, robotics systems, or multi-agent environments.
• Nice to have: familiarity with Unreal Engine, Unity, Cesium, CARLA, Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, AirSim, or related platforms.
• Nice to have: experience with automated scenario generation, simulation orchestration, or large-scale simulation execution.
• Nice to have: knowledge of synthetic data generation, perception simulation, sensor modeling, environmental modeling, or physics-based simulation.
• Nice to have: experience integrating simulation with autonomy stacks, mission software, or command-and-control systems.
• Nice to have: experience with cloud or distributed simulation and CI/CD-based regression testing.
• Nice to have: familiarity with robotics middleware, telemetry systems, replay tools, distributed systems, or real-time software.
• Nice to have: experience supporting defense, aerospace, robotics, autonomy, simulation, or dual-use technology programs.
