RMF Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, revise, and sustain technical documents, manuals, policies, and procedures that support the implementation and compliance of RMF.

• Work in collaboration with cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance teams to collect information and convert technical concepts into accessible documentation.

• Ensure that all documents adhere to federal and organizational RMF standards, including NIST guidelines.

• Review and refresh documents throughout the RMF lifecycle, ensuring they are accurate and complete.

• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior writers and team members on RMF documentation standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Information Technology, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.

• 10-15 years of professional experience in technical writing, with substantial exposure to Risk Management Framework environments.

• Strong knowledge of federal compliance standards and cybersecurity documentation practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and clarity.

• Capability to work independently and handle multiple projects at once.

• Experience with NIST publications and federal RMF processes.

• Proficiency in document management systems and technical editing tools.

• Ability to interpret and document intricate cybersecurity controls and requirements.
