Environmental Technical Editor – East Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Edit and format client-facing materials, such as reports, letters, proposals, and other technical documents, ensuring they meet JSI standards for accuracy, consistency, and quality.

• Maintain team resumes, templates, style guides, Site Tracker information, and track SHPO access controls effectively.

• Assist in 508 Compliance initiatives to guarantee that deliverables fulfill relevant accessibility standards.

• Oversee the production of physical deliverables, including tasks related to printing, packaging, and mailing.

• Offer administrative and document support to teams throughout the East region, independently managing various priorities and deadlines.

• Collaborate with project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure that deliverables are complete, polished, and prepared for submission to clients or agencies.

• Promote broadband and telecommunications initiatives that enhance connectivity and foster digital inclusion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• 5–10 years of experience in technical editing, document production, or a comparable field.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, along with a strong understanding of document formatting, styles, templates, and editing tools.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and organization.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines independently.

• Strong grasp of document quality control and the capability to maintain consistency across complex technical deliverables.

• Familiarity with SAA style and/or Zotero.

• Experience collaborating with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and NEPA.

• Proficiency in Salesforce, 508 Compliance, or experience in an engineering or technical consulting setting.
