Environmental Technical Editor – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Edit and format deliverables intended for clients, such as reports, letters, proposals, and various technical documents, ensuring precision, consistency, and compliance with JSI standards.

• Maintain team resumes, templates, style guides, Site Tracker data, and SHPO access tracking and controls.

• Assist in 508 Compliance initiatives to guarantee that deliverables fulfill relevant accessibility standards.

• Oversee the production of physical deliverables, including printing, packaging, and mailing processes.

• Provide administrative and documentation support to teams across the Central, Southwest, and West regions, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines autonomously.

• Collaborate with project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure that deliverables are thorough, refined, and prepared for submission to clients or agencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• 5–10 years of experience in technical editing, document production, or a similar field.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word along with a strong understanding of document formatting, styles, templates, and editing tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Proven capability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines independently.

• Solid understanding of document quality control and the ability to ensure consistency across intricate technical deliverables.

• Preferred: Experience with SAA style and/or Zotero.

• Preferred: Familiarity with working alongside federal, state, and local agencies, as well as knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and NEPA.

• Preferred: Experience with Salesforce, 508 Compliance, or within an engineering or technical consulting environment.
