Risk Control Consulting Director – Healthcare

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as an enterprise leader driving risk control strategies, technical proficiency, and underwriting assistance across the Allied Healthcare and Life Science sectors.

• Conduct onsite or virtual risk assessments and provide consultative risk enhancement services for intricate and advanced accounts.

• Mitigate loss exposure and expenses while supporting underwriting profitability through effective risk evaluation.

• Analyze client program requirements and devise tailored strategies and implementation plans.

• Oversee the provision of direct evaluative and consultative services.

• Collaborate with underwriting and other departments to assess and evaluate complex risks.

• Engage with senior management in the development and execution of risk control policies, marketing, and business strategies.

• Build and sustain internal and external business relationships.

• Coordinate risk control services for multinational and global insured entities.

• Discover opportunities for innovative products and services.

• Offer specialized knowledge in allied healthcare, facilities and providers, and Life Sciences product liability.

• Guide and mentor less experienced risk control personnel and other functional teams.

• Contribute to the creation and delivery of educational and training programs.

• Stay updated on risk control matters, regulations, industry developments, and trends.

• Represent the company in industry trade associations as required.

• Report directly to a Director or higher.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, Risk Management, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in healthcare risk management, professional liability, life sciences quality systems, medical device safety, pharmaceutical operations, insurance risk control, or similar areas.

• Professional certifications such as RN, PharmD, MPH, ARM, CPCU, CPHRM, CPHQ, RAPS, RAC, ASQ, CQA, or equivalent.

• Exceptional level of technical and industry-specific knowledge in risk control evaluation and assessment.

• Familiarity with insurance and risk control principles, practices, and procedures.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

• Capable of effectively engaging with internal and external business partners at all levels.

• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; adept at managing multiple projects.

• Competence in navigating ambiguous situations and issues.

• Innovative thinking in addressing unique and challenging business problems.

• Ability to achieve outcomes through a proactive, long-term perspective on business goals and objectives.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

• Willingness and ability to travel.

• Proven thought leadership, technical writing, and public speaking skills.

• Experience in industry presentations is highly desirable.
