This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Collaborate with members of the TAC Risk Management Pool in the Northeast Texas Region to provide risk control consulting services.
• Perform in-person and virtual consultations, conduct risk assessments, inspections, surveys, safety training, and analyze claims/losses.
• Work alongside the Risk Management Services regional team to determine service requirements and propose risk mitigation strategies.
• Present safety and risk management talks at member locations and TAC events.
• Represent TAC RMP at industry conferences and engage with county officials and staff.
• Stay informed on legislative changes, safety trends, and emerging issues to provide guidance to members.
• Share best practices and create educational materials such as articles, tools, and guides.
• Keep records of member interactions and submit reports and expense claims promptly.
• Collaborate on internal projects and contribute to program development.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, occupational health and safety, science, engineering, or a related field; or a minimum of three years of risk control experience in occupational health and safety and risk management.
• Preferred experience with counties or other governmental entities.
• Professional designations or certifications in risk control, risk management, or safety and security are preferred.
• Understanding of risk management and safety programs, risk mitigation techniques, and risk control for public works operations.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws.
• Knowledge of OSHA and National Fire Protection Association standards.
• Awareness of evaluating risk exposures that affect facility preservation.
• Understanding of Texas Workers’ Compensation laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in adult learning methodologies for training varied adult audiences.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional demeanor when representing TAC with elected officials, members, and others.
• Strong time management skills and accurate record keeping.
• Ability to operate independently with limited supervision.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Capability to operate an assigned vehicle for frequent business travel.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time, including frequent overnight stays.
• Ability to drive and perform inspections for extended durations.
• Capability to climb and walk on rooftops and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift or move boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat, and climb stairs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Agreement to sign the TAC Photo/Video Release Form.
