This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the firmware development for innovative RF hardware platforms that enhance LMI mesh networking products.
• Collaborate with external hardware design companies to incorporate the Texas Instruments CC1200 transceiver into advanced hardware designs.
• Create, modify, and maintain embedded firmware to optimize RF transceiver functionalities and radio performance.
• Design and implement RF communication protocols, device drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.
• Assist in hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation of both prototype and production hardware.
• Diagnose RF performance challenges utilizing spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF testing equipment.
• Work alongside hardware, firmware, cybersecurity, and systems engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Facilitate firmware verification, develop manufacturing tests, and ensure production readiness.
• Engage in field testing, customer demonstrations, and deployment initiatives.
• Generate technical documentation for firmware architecture, integration processes, testing, and manufacturing procedures.
• Participate in design reviews and offer technical expertise on RF system architecture and implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• Over 8 years of experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++.
• Proven experience in developing firmware for RF transceivers or wireless communication systems.
• Background in integrating RF chipsets into embedded hardware platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SPI, UART, I2C, GPIO, interrupts, and embedded peripherals.
• Proficiency in debugging embedded systems using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF testing equipment.
• Experience collaborating with external hardware vendors and cross-functional engineering teams.
• U.S. citizenship with the capacity to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Candidates must fulfill eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance.
• An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is preferred.
• Experience with the Texas Instruments CC1200 transceiver or comparable sub-GHz RF devices is desirable.
• Familiarity with mesh networking or low-power wireless communication systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of BLE, LoRa, 802.15.4, or proprietary RF protocols is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting DoD or government technology programs is a plus.
• Understanding of secure communications, cryptographic key management, and secure firmware development is beneficial.
• Experience in supporting manufacturing tests and production transitions is desirable.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–30% to customer sites, integration events, hardware design reviews, manufacturing partners, and field testing activities.
