Revenue Manager – Technical Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist the team in upholding and operationalizing Genesys Revenue and Accounting policies in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP standards, including converting policy into actionable guidance and pinpointing areas for improvement.

• Interpret modifications in accounting standards, interpretations, and business practices into revised policies and actionable operating procedures.

• Assess new products, business models, and contract structures, then translate accounting conclusions into clear, operational guidance for downstream teams.

• Create and maintain process documentation for all accounting memorandums, ensuring that documentation is ready for audits and aligned with company policy.

• Collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits, including discussing technical revenue accounting matters.

• Enhance month-end and quarter-end close processes by supporting financial reporting for intricate deals and ensuring that accounting results are comprehensive and well-documented.

• Work alongside Deal Desk, Sales, Product, Legal, and Finance to evaluate revenue implications of complex transactions and support timely deal execution.

• Conduct reviews of detailed technical accounting analyses on complex and financially significant arrangements and compute appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606.

• Examine contract assessments, revenue calculations, and memos prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with policies.

• Offer ongoing feedback and guidance to enhance the quality and efficiency of team deliverables.

• Identify and implement opportunities to utilize AI and automation to enhance consistency, efficiency, and scalability across revenue accounting processes.

• Promote the adoption of AI-enabled tools for contract analysis, memo drafting, and deal review support throughout the team.

• Stay adaptable and responsive to changing priorities, taking on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience with hands-on SaaS/technology experience; prior Big 4 experience (3+ years) is highly preferred.

• Extensive knowledge and technical comprehension of Software Revenue Recognition Accounting - ASC 606 in SaaS business models, with experience in revenue memo writing or evaluation.

• CPA certification is required.

• Confidence and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including the dissemination of technical information.

• Ability to engage effectively with sales and product teams, functional peer groups, and subordinates, and to secure cooperation from others, particularly those in different departments, as well as with outside auditors and legal counsel.

• Capability to excel in a rapidly growing and fast-paced remote-only environment.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diverse tasks, while meeting deadlines.
