Revenue Cycle Specialist, Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Respond to incoming patient phone calls.

• Address denials and worklists within 24 hours of receipt.

• Manage Accounts Receivables reports in accordance with established benchmarks.

• Process Unbilled/Exclusion lists within 24 hours of receipt.

• Handle denials associated with coding discrepancies.

• Conduct initial charge reviews to ascertain appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes for physician services.

• Analyze and investigate insurance denials arising from remittances, correspondence, or Clearinghouse rejections.

• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable utilizing practice management worklists, payer portals, phone inquiries, and written communications.

• Communicate denials or trends that necessitate practice knowledge or action.

• Collaborate with RMC team members and offices to ensure account accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Convey payer billing guidelines to clients and staff.

• Meet or surpass client AR objectives in the 30-, 60-, and 90+-day aging categories.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to answer patient phone calls.

• Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential.

• Familiarity with current third-party billing and collection regulatory guidelines and requirements is required.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a foundational understanding of team management concepts.

• Capability to gather and interpret clinical data effectively.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional communication skills; must be able to convey information both verbally and in writing.

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Billing or Coding Certification (CPC, CPC-A, COPC, CPB) is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

• Preferred: Two (2) years of experience with CPT ICD-10 coding for physician services.
