This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and audit the hospital Charge Description Master (CDM).
• Ensure the CDM is precise and adheres to regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct pricing updates and assist in preparing and submitting the annual rate filing with the State of Arizona.
• Offer guidance and support to facility staff.
• Ensure accurate charge capture and direct Charge Master information to dependent systems.
• Lead or manage special projects related to CDM and reimbursement data.
• Act as a liaison between Revenue Services, support areas, department managers, and committees.
• Coordinate consultant and external-party CDM projects.
• Oversee internal, defense, and patient complaint audits concerning charge capture.
• Utilize analytical applications, Excel, and Access for financial analysis and decision support.
• Execute reimbursement forecasting, trend analysis, cost analyses, financial projections, and ad hoc reporting.
• Analyze billing system requirements and validate and maintain the Charge Master application.
• Investigate and resolve revenue and billing issues while developing corrective action plans.
• Support system, report, and conversion design and modifications.
• Monitor CDM compliance initiatives along with regulatory investigations and findings.
• Provide compliance information on regulations relevant to healthcare providers.
• Interact with leadership, department managers, and facility staff regarding CDM compliance and financial matters.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and audit the standard system-focused CDM.
• Enhance internal controls to support sound billing practices.
• Must reside in the state of Arizona.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a healthcare field, or 4 years of relevant work experience in a business or healthcare setting.
• A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
• Preferably 5 to 7 years of progressive responsibility in CDM maintenance and revenue analysis.
• Current knowledge of revenue flow in healthcare financial systems is preferred.
• Extensive experience with inpatient and outpatient billing requirements of UB-04 and CMS 1500 billing forms is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and Access.
• Familiarity with CDM auditing and maintenance tools, such as Craneware.
• Understanding of healthcare reimbursement, billing systems, charge capture, and revenue integrity.
• Ability to conduct financial analysis, forecasting, trend analysis, cost analysis, and financial projections.
• Capability to research and resolve revenue and billing issues.
• Knowledge of healthcare-provider compliance regulations and findings from regulatory agencies.
