Revenue Accounting Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and standardize the revenue accounting processes and supporting systems for Function Health without executing the close.

• Assist the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager in defining the roadmap for accounting initiatives.

• Identify process gaps, risks, and opportunities while taking ownership of the scoping and prioritization of assigned workstreams.

• Design and standardize accounting processes and controls across various revenue streams.

• Oversee revenue accounting initiatives from beginning to end, including requirements gathering, sequencing, stakeholder tracking, and delivery.

• Facilitate connections between Accounting and the Data/Engineering, Finance, and Product teams.

• Convert accounting treatment and technical judgments into system requirements and configuration logic.

• Analyze data quality and process failures using underlying datasets and resolve root causes.

• Create documentation, mapping logic, and handoff materials for procedures that can be audited.

• Prepare documentation and data support for external audit and advisory partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and either project management, business/systems analysis, or accounting operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Strong grasp of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition, particularly with subscription or service-based revenue models.

• Proven project management capabilities.

• Experience in designing or standardizing operational processes and controls.

• Proficient data skills using Excel, SQL, or similar tools.

• Background in cross-functional collaboration with data, engineering, product, or finance teams.

• Capacity to translate accounting requirements into technical or operational execution.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Big 4 public accounting experience is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with scoping, configuring, and testing ERP or revenue recognition implementations such as NetSuite, Rillet, or Zuora is a plus.

• CPA certification or equivalent is advantageous.

• Experience in subscription-based, membership, or consumer health/tech business models is a plus.

• Knowledge of using AI or automation tools in accounting or process improvement workflows is beneficial.
