This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution of WWC projects and associated grants across the Northwest, particularly focusing on Oregon, to ensure timely completion of activities that align with program objectives.

• Collaborate with the WWC program director to formulate strategies, objectives, and priorities aimed at reducing wildlife-livestock conflicts throughout the Northwest.

• Establish, maintain, and enhance cooperative relationships with landowners, livestock producers, government agencies (such as US Fish & Wildlife Services, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, USDA APHIS Wildlife Services), producer groups, and other community organizations to further conflict reduction initiatives.

• Coordinate and increase participation of Oregon landowners in WLA’s practitioner calls, the Conflict Reduction Consortium, and additional peer-learning opportunities.

• Organize workshops, field tours, webinars, and other outreach and educational events to encourage peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and the adoption of effective wildlife conflict reduction practices.

• Link landowners and producers with regional, state, and federal technical assistance, funding opportunities, and resources that facilitate wildlife conflict reduction on working lands.

• Contribute to WLA communications and stewardship services by providing content and engaging with members, landowners, and land managers to enhance awareness of program opportunities and achievements.

• Offer technical and programmatic expertise to support public policy efforts and economic strategies focused on mitigating wildlife conflicts on working lands in the Northwest.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience is required.

• Familiarity with wildlife management and conservation practices and policies.

• Knowledge of land and natural resource issues in the West, including agriculture, ranching, conservation, and related policies.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships.

• Experience engaging with landowners.

• Proven success in collaboratively working with multiple stakeholders towards a unified goal.

• Experience in facilitating meetings and working with diverse groups.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities; detail-oriented with a robust independent work ethic; and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work setting.

• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required.

• Willingness and capability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse populations.

• High level of technology literacy and adaptability, including the ability to learn and effectively utilize new software, digital tools, and collaborative platforms.
