Resident Engineer – AC Substations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the main on-call technical contact for all issues.

• Provide prompt evaluation, troubleshooting, and coordination during critical system failures or unexpected outages, ensuring quick service restoration while upholding safety and operational integrity.

• Serve as the key on-site resource for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and technical questions related to AC Substation equipment.

• Deliver expert technical support for Substation Control and Protection systems.

• Contribute to the creation of detailed Operations and Maintenance (O&M) procedures.

• Offer mentorship and hands-on training to customer personnel as necessary.

• Ensure the effective execution of all scheduled maintenance tasks in line with the established Annual Work Plan.

• Review spare parts inventories and specifications; provide suggestions for any missing or damaged components.

• Actively monitor substation performance data to detect potential failure modes before they lead to outages.

• Be a reliable technical advisor to the customer's management team.

• Promote EHS standards on-site, ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to safety requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.

• At least 5 years of experience managing high-voltage substations.

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated field experience.

• Must be available to work at project sites across the US.
