Researcher – AI, Digital Innovation Ecosystem

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Perform research and analysis concerning AI, digital transformation, and emerging EU policy initiatives.

• Keep track of developments pertaining to the AI Office, the Apply AI Strategy, AI Factories, EDIHs, and various European digital innovation programs.

• Create and implement surveys, conduct interviews, and facilitate stakeholder consultations.

• Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data and convert findings into significant and actionable insights.

• Contribute to impact assessments, analytical reports, policy briefs, and strategic documents.

• Assist in the mapping and observation of AI and digital innovation actors, initiatives, and ecosystem developments throughout Europe.

• Prepare presentations, briefings, and background research for meetings, workshops, and events.

• Collaborate with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders engaged in European digital and AI initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or higher in public policy, economics, political science, innovation studies, AI governance, digital transformation, data science, or a related discipline.

• Strong analytical and research capabilities.

• Experience in conducting policy, innovation, or ecosystem analysis.

• Knowledge of European digital and innovation policies.

• Familiarity with the European AI ecosystem, including policy initiatives, innovation support structures, research networks, start-ups, scale-ups, and public-sector initiatives.

• Proficiency in working with surveys, stakeholder consultations, and data analysis.

• Exceptional written and spoken English, with the capacity to convey complex findings clearly to various audiences.

• A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a keen interest in operating within a rapidly changing policy and technology landscape.

• Familiarity with the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) is a plus.

• Understanding the AI adoption challenges faced by SMEs and public administrations is advantageous.

• Experience with EU-funded projects or working alongside European institutions is beneficial.

• Familiarity with AI policy, AI governance, or the development of innovation ecosystems is an advantage.
