This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate clinical research protocols to assess their financial and operational implications.
• Collaborate with UofL Health departments to establish feasibility and identify relevant costs.
• Provide researchers with pricing information for necessary items and services.
• Review and sanction coverage analyses for billable items and services.
• Examine final clinical research budgets to ensure accurate coverage analysis, pricing, and cost allocation.
• Prepare and update coverage analysis documents to uphold compliant billing plans.
• Assess contracts, budgets, and consent forms for consistency.
• Promote billing compliance in conjunction with the Cerner Clinical Informatics team and UL Cancer Trials Program.
• Review Cerner PowerPlan builds at the initiation of studies and throughout clinical trials.
• Monitor and invoice non-patient accounts receivable for research services.
• Follow up on pending accounts receivable.
• Provide cross-training to ensure daily management of the research billing email account.
• Review anatomical pathology requests, generate daily system reports, and manage patient-accounting encounters to avert improper claims processing.
• Prepare, submit, and sustain local CMS and CGS approvals for investigational device trials.
• Complete Cerner POM and Epic Research Record setups as necessary.
• Adhere to company policies and undertake other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business (mandatory).
• Equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare finance or revenue cycle operations (mandatory).
• A minimum of 3 years in clinical research (preferred).
• Education in medical terminology and coding (preferred).
• MBA, CCRP, CHRC, CPC (preferred).
• Capability to review clinical research protocols, contracts, budgets, consent forms, and coverage analyses.
• Familiarity with Cerner Clinical Informatics, Cerner POM, and Epic Research Record setup.
• Licensure: Not applicable (mandatory).
• Certification: Not applicable (mandatory).
• Ability to work 80 productive hours per pay period.
• Must consistently comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
• Exempt position requires working 80 productive hours each pay period and is compensated biweekly.
• Daily hours are adaptable, provided that a minimum of 80 productive hours are completed.
