Rental Asset Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the utilization, availability, downtime, revenue, margins, repair expenses, and lifecycle performance of rental assets throughout the portfolio.

• Develop, sustain, and enhance Excel-based reporting models, dashboards, trackers, and performance summaries.

• Analyze extensive datasets from ERP, rental management, finance, CRM, telematics, or other operational systems to uncover trends, exceptions, and areas for improvement.

• Employ AI tools and data-analysis platforms to efficiently and accurately clean, classify, summarize, and interpret large quantities of rental asset data.

• Assist in monthly and quarterly reporting regarding portfolio performance, asset returns, underutilized equipment, revenue leakage, and capital allocation.

• Generate insights to enhance rental pricing, portfolio mix, asset redeployment, maintenance planning, and investment strategies.

• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to analyze discrepancies, reconcile data, validate assumptions, and ensure the accuracy of reports.

• Produce ad hoc analyses for leadership, covering areas such as asset profitability, customer rental behavior, geographic demand, replacement timing, and disposal suggestions.

• Spot opportunities to automate recurring reports, simplify manual processes, and enhance data quality.

• Clearly communicate findings to stakeholders, translating complex analyses into actionable business recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, complex formulas, data validation, scenario analysis, and dashboard creation.

• Strong capacity to analyze large datasets, recognize patterns, validate data integrity, and derive commercially viable conclusions.

• Practical experience utilizing AI tools for data cleaning, summarization, anomaly detection, forecasting, reporting, or enhancing productivity.

• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to convey insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with operational, financial, rental, equipment, inventory, or asset management data.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.

• High level of curiosity, accountability, and a desire to enhance processes and challenge existing reporting practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, economics, operations, supply chain, data analytics, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of two years of experience in an analyst role, ideally within rental equipment, asset management, portfolio operations, logistics, finance, construction equipment, industrial services, or a similar asset-intensive sector.

• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, Python, ERP systems, rental management software, CRM systems, or other business intelligence tools.

• A basic understanding of rental asset economics, including utilization, yield, maintenance costs, depreciation, return on capital, and lifecycle value is preferred but not mandatory.

• Highly analytical and adept at working with imperfect or incomplete data.

• Commercially aware, with the ability to link data insights to business outcomes.

• Proactive, organized, and capable of owning recurring reporting and improvement initiatives.

• Collaborative and confident in engaging with stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, and leadership.

• Innovative mindset with a practical understanding of how AI tools can enhance speed, accuracy, and insight generation.
