This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accurately process, rate when necessary, and timely release client shipments.
• Generate customs entries by examining shipment documentation and selecting the appropriate client records, vendors, keywords, and HS codes.
• Input shipment details for release, rating, and billing, ensuring all mandatory fields are complete and accurate.
• Establish the correct value for duties and tariff treatment based on invoice details and sales terms.
• Reach out to analysts or client service teams for any missing documentation, information, or release instructions.
• Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance, rating compliance, and free trade certificates.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), exceptional service protocols (ESPs), business rules, and specific client instructions.
• Identify outdated procedures and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and client service.
• Research and respond professionally to information requests from the Call Center via phone or email.
• Prioritize tasks based on client and customs requirements, as well as applicable standards.
• Elevate two-step release requirements and any authorization or release issues to the relevant analyst, specialist, or supervisor.
• Update, approve, and release billing information as needed.
• Assist with billing and ASR data entry as required.
• Engage in the daily operations of Release Operations.
• Utilize available system automation tools to facilitate release processing.
• Execute other related tasks as assigned by management.
• Comply with established policies and procedures.
• Required: High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associate degree or post-secondary education.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Must be working towards or have successfully completed the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation through CSCB or NCBFAA, if not already obtained.
• Successful completion of the CCS examination is essential for further career advancement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills alongside strong organizational abilities.
• Strong client-service orientation and interpersonal skills with both internal and external clients and colleagues.
• Capability to manage large volumes of work and meet tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail, organization, completeness, and precision.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
