Relationship Manager, Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with both clients of the firm and internal stakeholders.

• Offer legal counsel and direction on matters pertaining to trusts, emphasizing compliance and risk management.

• Review, draft, and interpret trust documents, agreements, and related legal materials.

• Collaborate with business units to ensure that trust services are provided in alignment with legal and regulatory standards.

• Identify and minimize legal risks linked to trust operations.

• Assist with client onboarding, account management, and the resolution of issues.

• Remain informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments that affect trust services.

• Monitor account activities to ensure adherence to established company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including the completion of annual Reg. 9 reviews.

• Develop strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor to address their financial matters with professionalism and expertise.

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• 5–12+ years of experience in trust law, estate planning, estate settlement, trust administration, or a related legal domain.

• Preferred experience in client relationship management.

• Strong comprehension of fiduciary duties and trust management.

• Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Capability to balance legal risks with business goals.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster relationships.

• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Collaborative approach with the ability to work across different functions.
