This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer specialized legal advice regarding U.S. regulatory and law enforcement expectations, particularly in relation to crypto and financial regulations, AML, sanctions, securities laws, commodities laws, and other pertinent regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate with Legal Department members and management on regulatory litigation issues and interactions with U.S. governmental agencies and regulatory authorities.
• Provide counsel on the company's approach to regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and compliance reviews, focusing on their implications for AML and sanctions compliance programs.
• Engage with U.S. regulatory bodies and their representatives to ensure effective communication and cooperation.
• Offer guidance and advice in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to legal obligations.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including compliance, risk management, and business teams, to navigate complex legal and regulatory challenges of significant sensitivity and impact within the U.S. jurisdiction.
• Advise on evolving regulatory changes in the U.S. that affect the crypto and financial sectors, informing the business of potential risks and compliance strategies.
• Assist with regulatory filings, investigations, remediation efforts, and enforcement matters as necessary.
• Proven expertise in addressing legal issues, including experience in litigation and contentious regulatory matters, ideally involving U.S. financial regulators such as FinCEN, SEC, CFTC, OFAC, and state regulators.
• Strong understanding of U.S. AML and sanctions compliance programs, with hands-on experience in supporting or advising on these frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. financial products, including spot trading, margin trading, futures, and options, particularly within the crypto sector.
• Excellent analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing complex legal issues.
• Demonstrated capability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to varied audiences.
• Experience in-house and involvement in internal remediation efforts are advantageous.
