• Strategic direction: The RVP will collaborate with the CDs and regional staff to thoughtfully oversee the development of a clear regional approach that aligns with Edify’s overall mission and strategy, and to lead the execution of that strategy. The RVP is accountable for tracking, recognizing, and celebrating progress towards strategic milestones, giving thanks to God as the region advances. The RVP will also monitor contextual changes and adapt accordingly, ensuring regional perspectives are integrated into the global strategy and initiatives.
• Leadership of the region: The RVP provides guidance and support to the CDs of each operational country and regional technical support, facilitating change as outlined in the Outcomes Map. The RVP will closely collaborate with the CDs to establish Spirit-led targets and work with direct reports to achieve these goals, allowing for ‘God space’ that may alter the final outcomes. The RVP will ensure that each country meets all performance metrics, closely monitoring these with the CDs and adapting to each country's context while fostering sharing of learning and progress within and across regions.
• Budget Oversight: The RVP will manage the regional budget, including capital allocated to Financial Institutions, ensuring that budgets and plans reflect priorities and needs aligned with Edify’s mission across all countries. The RVP will oversee expenses to ensure they remain within budget, managing any necessary overages through savings or negotiating additional funds. Quarterly reviews and analyses of expenses versus budget will be conducted, ensuring CDs maintain ongoing oversight of expenditures.
• Ensure appropriate Support: The RVP will guarantee that each country in the region receives the necessary technical and other support to function effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with Edify's norms and standards. This includes collaboration with global technical/service leaders and assessing regional support needs.
• Leadership development: The RVP is responsible for equipping their direct reports to excel in their roles, providing opportunities for learning, growth, and full potential development. Additionally, the RVP will ensure that the CDs cultivate the next generation of leadership within their country teams, facilitating development opportunities throughout the teams.
• Focus on Impact: The RVP must ensure that work remains centered on impacting the overall Vision and Mission, collecting baseline information and regularly gathering data to assess the impact of efforts in enhancing Christ-Centered Education. Decisions should be data-informed, with relevant information collected to guide key future decisions, approached prayerfully and led by the Spirit.
• Regional Growth: The RVP will lead and manage the growth of the sub-region, aiming to reach as many schools as possible while maintaining quality and transformative practices. The RVP will drive the identification of new countries among current associate countries, engaging the SLT at critical decision points.
• Culture and values: The RVP will shape the regional culture to align with Edify’s overall values, demonstrating these values personally and recognizing their manifestation among team members within the region.
• Connection and relationship across regions: The RVP will collaborate closely with other RVPs, encouraging, challenging, and sharing ideas to support one another in advancing the overarching Edify mission.
• Oversight of the portfolio of Financial Institutional Partners: The RVP will maintain a thorough understanding of the MFIs in the region, supporting the CDs in managing the portfolio and addressing any concerns or issues that arise. It is crucial that the portfolio serves the schools in alignment with Edify’s mission.
• Training partners: The RVP will ensure a comprehensive understanding of the training partner and consultant portfolio across the region, enabling CDs to maximize these relationships for achieving the outcomes specified in the Outcome Map. Collaboration with other RVPs and the Director for Associate Countries, LATAM, will ensure training development serves both South and Central America effectively. Opportunities for cross-country and region learning will be pursued.
• Understanding of Country Context: The RVP will develop and sustain a thorough understanding of the contexts faced by CCE in each country, including educational environments, needs for low-cost independent Christ-centered schools, legislative issues, and banking and audit requirements. Regular visits and connections to schools will provide the context needed for high-level decision-making.
• Compliance and regulation: The RVP will ensure operational countries adhere to regulations and protect Edify operations from regulatory risks.
• Program Innovation: The RVP will initiate, champion, and create an environment conducive to program innovations that establish Edify as a leader in Christ-Centered education. Collaborating with Country Directors, the RVP will pilot solutions with data-informed demonstrations of effectiveness for potential mainstream adoption into Edify programs.
• External Representation & Advocacy: The RVP will serve as a key ambassador for Edify in the region, forging strategic relationships with external stakeholders, government entities, and educational networks to promote the mission of Christ-centered education.
• A personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Edify's mission and vision.
• A minimum of ten years' experience in private enterprise, educational organizations (at managerial level), international development, or economic development.
• A Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Management, Education, Finance, International Development, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Finance and/or Microfinance operations.
• Strong skills in leadership, development, and coaching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A strong team player attitude.
• A strong multicultural work perspective.
• Personal maturity and the capacity to build and maintain harmonious relationships.
• Proven capability to manage difficult situations and make tough decisions as needed.
• Organized and methodical approach (effective time management, prioritization of competing demands, and managing multiple deadlines).
• Fluent in both Spanish and English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite/Google suite (Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slideshow, etc.).

This includes collaboration with global technical/service leaders and assessing regional support needs.

• Focus on Impact: The RVP will ensure that efforts are directed towards impactful outcomes aligned with Edify’s Vision and Mission, collecting and analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of initiatives in Christ-Centered Education.
• Regional Growth: The RVP will lead the sub-region's expansion, aiming to reach a greater number of schools while ensuring quality and transformative practices are upheld.
• Culture and values: The RVP will guide the regional culture to align with Edify’s values, demonstrating and acknowledging these values within the team.
• Connection and relationship across regions: The RVP will collaborate with fellow RVPs to foster mutual support and idea exchange, strengthening the overall Edify mission.
• Oversight of the portfolio of Financial Institutional Partners: The RVP will ensure a comprehensive understanding of the regional MFIs, supporting CDs in managing these relationships effectively to serve schools in alignment with Edify’s mission.
• Training partners: The RVP will maintain a strong grasp of the training partner and consultant landscape, assisting CDs in leveraging these relationships for desired outcomes while promoting cross-country learning.
• Understanding of Country Context: The RVP will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the educational contexts in each country, ensuring informed decision-making through regular school visits and connections.
• Compliance and regulation: The RVP will ensure operational compliance with regulations, safeguarding Edify from regulatory risks.
• Program Innovation: The RVP will foster an environment for program innovations that establish Edify as a leader in Christ-Centered education, working with Country Directors to pilot effective solutions.
• External Representation & Advocacy: The RVP will represent Edify in the region, building strategic relationships to advance Christ-centered education.
