This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.
• Formulate branch strategies and business plans in collaboration with the branch leadership team, ensuring that agency implications and impacts are adequately represented.
• Create strategies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the branch territory, aligning them with directives from the corporate office.
• Implement and enforce guidelines and procedures throughout the territory.
• Oversee the overall branch agency sales force to ensure that growth and profit goals are successfully achieved.
• Manage the prospecting, evaluation, and appointment of new agencies, considering branch goals, needs, and agency potential.
• Provide final recommendations for new agency appointments to the Branch Vice President for approval.
• Supervise agency planning and goal-setting processes, facilitating essential discussions and negotiations with key agencies to establish annual growth and profit targets.
• Design marketing and sales plans specific to the branch, including negotiation and collaboration with associations, vendors, and corporate office departments.
• Monitor the impact on results and make adjustments as necessary.
• Develop and implement branch production plans as part of the branch leadership team.
• Distribute production goals across various branch field territories under supervision.
• Track the progress of production plans, providing regular updates to the branch leadership team.
• Modify strategies as required to achieve intended outcomes.
• Build and nurture relationships with key partners in important agencies, serving as a liaison between the branch and these agencies.
• Conduct agency visits and presentations to foster profitable relationships and improve underperforming agencies.
• Collaborate with team members to set performance goals and monitor progress.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching support.
• Interview, hire, and recommend salary adjustments for team members.
• Address disciplinary issues, review results, action plans, and progress.
• Develop team expertise and execute succession planning, including identifying talent and implementing development plans for critical roles.
• Encourage an innovative culture by supporting new ideas and offering guidance on potential changes.
• A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in marketing or business, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• A minimum of ten years of underwriting or sales/marketing experience in the property and casualty insurance industry or a related field.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience is required.
• Insurance designations such as CPCU or CIC are preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry, including independent agency operations, market conditions, and competitor insights.
• Advanced understanding of marketing and sales strategies.
• Strong leadership skills with the capacity to motivate the team effectively.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, along with effective conflict management and resolution skills.
• Outstanding organizational, time management, and planning skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report according to company standards is required if driving.
