This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
β’ Bridge the gap between Global and Local operations.
β’ Tailor and implement global People initiatives for the region, ensuring they are effective, relevant, and compliant with local standards.
β’ Evaluate whether global strategies will resonate in Southeast Asia, identify gaps early, and influence how changes are communicated and executed on the ground.
β’ Relay regional trends, risks, and opportunities back to HQ to ensure our global strategy is grounded in local realities.
β’ Provide focused People Partnering support to a designated client group within the region.
β’ Assist with local organizational design and restructuring, total rewards benchmarking, country expansion, and the implementation of people initiatives and programs.
β’ Serve as the trusted partner for sensitive people issues and intricate regional challenges during local time zones.
β’ Manage regional employment compliance and people risks in collaboration with Location Partners and Employment Legal teams.
β’ Act as the regional subject matter expert on local laws, regulations, and cultural nuances across Southeast Asia's diverse markets.
β’ Function as the escalation point for complex employee relations issues and lead responses to critical regional events such as natural disasters, safety incidents, or significant regulatory changes.
β’ Have a comprehensive understanding of the benefits offered in each country, advising on local benefit gaps that affect talent attraction and retention where Centers of Excellence (COEs) may not have complete visibility.
β’ Assist in scaling Canvaβs culture in a manner that feels locally authentic and inclusive.
β’ Track engagement and organizational health across the region, utilizing people data and insights to enhance engagement, retention, and employee experiences.
β’ Facilitate regional connections, events, and leadership visibility.
β’ Lead and develop a team of four across People Partnering, People Relations, and Location Partners.
β’ Establish regional priorities, ensure clear ownership throughout the People ecosystem, and mentor your team to excel in a matrixed, global environment.
β’ Provide leadership and foster connection within the local People team, driving alignment and collaboration across various People functions to ensure cohesive delivery.
β’ Demonstrated experience as a senior HR Business Partner in a complex, global context.
β’ In-depth knowledge of the employment landscape in the Philippines, and ideally Southeast Asia, including regulatory requirements, cultural nuances, and local market dynamics.
β’ Proven track record in leading and developing People teams, including managing dotted-line and matrixed relationships.
β’ Strong judgment in handling ambiguity and navigating complex, sensitive people decisions.
β’ Ability to influence without direct authority and establish trust with senior leadership.
β’ Comfortable working with a significant degree of autonomy while knowing when to engage others.
