This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Take the lead in negotiations and cultivate strategic relationships with regional and BCBS commercial payers to achieve optimal reimbursement rates, coverage, and contract execution.
• Implement payer strategies that are in line with corporate objectives while keeping track of shifts in reimbursement models, regulatory landscapes, and commercial insurance trends.
• Manage and enhance existing payer contracts to ensure compliance with payer policies, operational necessities, and internal workflows.
• Act as the main liaison with external stakeholders, keeping abreast of changes to reimbursement methodologies, coverage guidelines, and state-specific policy updates, and relaying impacts internally.
• Develop and enhance multi-tiered payer relationships across medical policy, contracting, network management, utilization management, government affairs, and legal teams to further enterprise goals.
• Work in conjunction with Sales, Billing, Authorization, Medical Policy, Government Affairs, Legal, and senior leadership to address payer-specific challenges, align on strategic goals, and implement process enhancements.
• Discover and capitalize on opportunities for coverage expansion, revenue growth, and operational improvements using data, market intelligence, and payer insights, providing informed recommendations to leadership for decision-making.
• Manage multiple payer-focused initiatives concurrently, demonstrating strong project management skills in a dynamic environment while ensuring effective communication.
• Track and share emerging trends within regional commercial markets to guide strategic decision-making and maintain organizational coherence.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• 5-7 years of demonstrated success in biotech sales, payer markets, or managed care; experience in key account management, contracting, or a similar field is essential.
• Experience in strategic account management, prior managed care contracting, and a deep understanding of the insurance sector are highly preferred.
• Familiarity with the healthcare industry and proven experience working with commercial insurers and/or government payers is required.
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are necessary.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time is required.
