Referral Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Receive and process referrals from MedSender into Atlas.

• Upload referral documents and verify insurance eligibility in Atlas.

• Triage and categorize service types: therapy, medication management, psychological testing, or a combination thereof.

• Manage specialty payers and contracts.

• Contact patients on the same day to confirm their interest in services and verify insurance information.

• Match patients with suitable providers based on their insurance, location, and availability.

• Schedule appointments for mental health therapy and medication management services.

• Distribute intake forms on the same day an appointment is arranged.

• Notify referring providers upon receipt of referrals.

• Oversee a three-attempt follow-up queue over eight days for patients who have not been contacted.

• Discharge patients after three unsuccessful contact attempts and inform the referring practitioner.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in health sciences, psychology, or a related discipline.

• Over 1 year of experience in a medical or behavioral health administrative position.

• Clinical literacy, including familiarity with mental health service types and terminology.

• Excellent phone communication and patient-facing abilities.

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.

• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

• Must reside in South Carolina, Texas, Illinois, or Colorado.

• Experience as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or medical scheduler is preferred.

• Familiarity with insurance platforms and Dialpad is preferred.

• Experience working in a multi-department or multi-location practice is preferred.

• Bilingual skills are preferred.
