Recovery Coach – Future Hire

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Establish trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with clients grounded in shared lived experiences.

• Leverage personal recovery experiences to provide hope, motivation, and accountability.

• Collaborate with participants and the Holon care team to create tailored recovery plans.

• Connect clients with community resources such as housing, healthcare, employment, and transportation.

• Conduct strengths-based assessments to identify the needs and goals of clients.

• Advocate for clients within the justice system, care system, and other pertinent environments.

• Work alongside Care Navigators, clinicians, and judicial contacts for integrated care.

• Stay updated on best practices in peer support and recovery-oriented care.

• Ensure confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

• Participate in new initiatives and engagement strategies as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A person in sustained recovery with a minimum of one year of lived experience (strongly preferred).

• Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS) or Peer Recovery Coach.

• Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or PRS in the state of New Jersey; national certification from an accredited agency such as NAADAC is also acceptable.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.

• 1–2 years of experience in a peer support role is strongly preferred.

• Lived experience or a close connection to someone in recovery is highly valued.

• Experience working with justice-involved populations is an advantage.

• Strong empathy, listening, and communication skills are essential.

• Understanding of the realities of recovery and the barriers clients may encounter.

• Professional boundaries and ethical standards must be maintained.

• Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
