R&D Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of quality planning, testing strategies, and validation tasks for one or more software products.

• Actively engage as a member of Agile product teams alongside Product Owners, developers, architects, and DevOps engineers.

• Establish and implement risk-based testing strategies that concentrate on business-critical functionalities and quality risks.

• Create and carry out functional, integration, regression, exploratory, API, and automated tests.

• Design, develop, and sustain automated testing solutions that support CI/CD pipelines.

• Conduct backend and data validation testing, which includes database verification and system integration validation.

• Evaluate requirements and designs for their testability, quality, and value to customers.

• Detect quality risks early and promote proactive quality engineering practices.

• Execute root cause analysis and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance product quality and reliability.

• Contribute to test environment management, test data strategies, release readiness evaluations, and defect governance.

• Foster continuous improvement in testing methodologies, frameworks, and engineering processes.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across quality initiatives.

• Assist with compliance, cybersecurity, and regulatory validation activities where relevant.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

• Over 4 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or software development.

• Proven experience in Agile software development environments.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute thorough test strategies and test plans.

• Strong grasp of functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing methodologies.

• Experience with test automation frameworks and automated testing methodologies.

• Proven ability to validate web applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise software systems.

• Strong analytical skills along with troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to work independently while influencing cross-functional teams and technical decisions.

• Preferred: Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman, REST API testing, or similar automation tools.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

• Preferred: Experience testing cloud-native or SaaS applications.

• Preferred: Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools, test generation, or intelligent quality engineering strategies.

• Preferred: Background in laboratory informatics, compliance software, scientific software, or regulated environments.

• Preferred: Experience with performance, security, and reliability testing.

• Preferred: Experience mentoring fellow engineers or leading quality initiatives across multiple teams.
