RCM / Collections Specialist / Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Submits invoices promptly and accurately to payers for the products and services rendered.

• Understands all contract terms and fee schedules relevant to the invoicing process.

• Accurately determines quantities and pricing for billed medications.

• Verifies that services and products have the necessary authorizations and that required documentation is maintained.

• Ensures that invoices are submitted for services and products that have been properly ordered and confirmed as delivered.

• Assesses payments received for accuracy and applies them correctly in the system.

• Confirms that received payments align with the fee schedule.

• Appropriately applies payments to patient accounts.

• Guarantees that secondary bills and patient invoices are dispatched within 48 hours of payment receipt.

• Alerts the Reimbursement Manager regarding any overpayments or duplicate payments for the same service.

• Transfers payments meant for other offices within 48 hours of receipt.

• Follows up on submitted invoices to ensure prompt payment.

• Makes calls to verify that submitted claims have been received and are being processed.

• Sends correspondence to patients or responsible parties if their insurance carrier fails to process payments within a reasonable time frame.

• Generates and sends out statements and collection letters.

• Follows up on all denials within 48 hours of receipt.

• Ensures adherence to policies and guidelines as outlined in the contract terms and fee schedule.

• Complies with HIPAA regulations when accessing and sharing patient information to safeguard confidentiality.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• 0 – 6 months of prior experience in Infusion Reimbursement or Intake/Admissions.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.
