This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Determine potential product failure points and prioritize testing accordingly.
• Create comprehensive end-to-end journeys, maintain a smoke suite for each build, and develop integration tests that engineers review and manage.
• Select tools and execute processes within GitHub Actions.
• Provide engineers with a “ready / not ready” assessment prior to each release, detailing what has passed, failed, and what remains unchecked.
• Compose straightforward summaries for non-engineers outlining verified elements and objectively question risky release timelines with supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to test features during their development, adapting to team workloads as necessary.
• Establish a shared definition of “done” and mentor engineers on conducting their own testing.
• Execute functional, regression, and accessibility tests across various browsers and devices, while verifying each customer’s configuration.
• Evaluate APIs and asynchronous interactions between services and create contract tests for external systems.
• Assess system behavior under conditions of slow, down, or inaccurately responding dependencies.
• Develop evaluation suites with benchmark datasets for AI chatbots and assistants, re-evaluating them with prompt or model changes, and testing safety measures.
• Utilize AI tools to create, maintain, and prioritize tests.
• Generate realistic test data while adhering to strict access and data protection guidelines.
• Assist in identifying and rectifying security vulnerabilities within the application and its infrastructure.
• Over 5 years of experience in quality assurance, testing, or software engineering, including automation you've developed and that runs in CI, maintained by other engineers.
• Proven experience in establishing at least one testing practice from a foundational level: selecting tools, creating initial test suites, integrating them into CI, and being able to articulate what remains untested.
• Proficient in writing test code in Python or TypeScript for APIs, browsers, and pipelines, including headless browser executions and integration tests for unreliable dependencies.
• Experience in testing business rules that you needed to learn: reviewing policies, identifying gaps, and developing tests based on the findings.
• Proven track record as the sole quality representative across multiple teams, independently setting priorities without a pre-defined backlog.
• Ability to provide clear written updates for both engineers and non-engineers, confidently challenging deadlines with factual evidence.
• Fully remote work opportunity across the U.S., with live collaboration during U.S. business hours.
• Full-time, permanent position (approximately 40 hours per week).
• Competitive salary in USD.
• Real authority: you will define the testing strategy, automation processes, and standards for quality.
• An engineering buddy to assist you in getting set up from day one.
• Direct impact: your contributions will help families obtain and maintain the benefits for which they are eligible.
