Quality Control Proofreader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough quality assessments on financial documents during their creation and following client modifications, prior to SEC submission and/or printing.

• Compare converted documents against client originals to confirm text accuracy.

• Proofread and validate spelling, grammar, style, alignment, job numbers, page numbers, and headings.

• Ensure logos are accurate and of high quality.

• Annotate identified changes directly on printed PDF proofs.

• Recognize and address routine issues using established protocols.

• Appropriately escalate exceptions.

• Manage personal workload while contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 2–4 years of professional proofreading experience.

• 2–4 years of experience in typesetting, publishing, document production, or quality control.

• Proficient in written English, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency in style.

• Capable of identifying discrepancies in text, formatting, layout, pagination, graphics, and data.

• Ability to accurately review complex financial, technical, and mathematical content.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Competence in reviewing PDF and HTML files; familiarity with Adobe products.

• Understanding of SEC filing requirements or other regulated document workflows.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal abilities.

• Willingness to work flexible and extended hours during peak seasonal periods.
