Quality Assurance Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of quality for systems processing high volumes of customer data in real-time across various integrations.

• Design and manage black-box, API-level, integration, and end-to-end test automation specifically for Data Pipeline services, with a focus on imports.

• Develop and sustain automated test suites in GitLab CI/CD that serve as gatekeepers for deployments and identify regressions.

• Analyze Go/Python pipeline code to identify gaps and create effective test cases.

• Lead the test strategy during grooming and design reviews, encompassing test types, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and potential failure modes.

• Collaborate with the existing Data Pipeline QA to promote automation and testing practices adjacent to the code.

• Utilize telemetry and reproduction methods to transform production incidents into automated regression tests.

• Comprehend tracking, imports, exports, and complete data flow processes.

• Advocate for quality enhancements throughout the Data Pipeline core.

• Work in partnership with developers to foster shared quality ownership.

• Deliver automated integration or end-to-end suites for import flows and integrate them into CI.

• Oversee the quality posture of the imports domain, enhancing pipeline coverage, CI feedback speed, and release confidence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in writing test automation code, including integration and API tests within CI, utilizing Python, Go, or a comparable language.

• Capable of reading backend/pipeline code in Go or Python sufficiently to identify gaps and cross-component risks.

• Experience in managing black-box, API, and integration/end-to-end automation.

• Willingness to primarily focus on coding and automation tasks.

• Comfortable engaging in grooming and design discussions from the outset, with a proactive shift-left mindset.

• Ability to learn and adapt within a vast codebase and data domain.

• Effective in a remote-first working environment.

• Fluent in using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or Gemini CLI.

• Previous backend experience is preferred.

• Experience in ETL/data-pipeline testing is preferred.

• Familiarity with testing Kafka, GCP, or BigQuery systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of Robot Framework, Playwright, Postman, or other API testing tools is preferred.
