This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
β’ Design and oversee IREG-based testing campaigns for roaming partners, network modifications, and service rollouts across Data, Voice, and SMS.
β’ Manage the test SIM and eSIM inventory, remote testing probes, campaign setup, scheduling, execution, reporting, and coverage history.
β’ Develop repeatable testing pipelines and incorporate smoke and regression test suites into CI/CD processes.
β’ Establish clear release criteria for core network modifications and guide Roaming adjustments.
β’ Define KPIs, baselines, and thresholds to assess service health.
β’ Correlate synthetic testing outcomes with production KPIs and genuine customer experiences.
β’ Transform findings into alerts and operational runbooks for the Operations team.
β’ Design and execute geo-redundancy tests, including site failover/failback, Diameter and GTP path recovery, session continuity, and data consistency post-switch.
β’ Validate the core platform's capacity under sustained loads and signaling surges.
β’ Analyze PCAP, MAP/SS7, Diameter, GTP, and DNS traces in conjunction with monitoring data.
β’ Identify failures, assist in root cause analysis, validate solutions, and enhance regression coverage.
β’ Proven experience in telecom QA, network testing, service assurance, or roaming validation.
β’ Understanding of LTE/EPC architecture with troubleshooting skills for registration or session flows.
β’ Proficiency in using Wireshark.
β’ Capability to write automation scripts in Python or a comparable programming language.
β’ Experience maintaining regression suites within CI/CD frameworks.
β’ Background at a roaming hub, IPX provider, mobile operator, or MVNO, including partner interoperability testing (preferred but not required).
β’ Practical experience with SIM box or remote testing probe management (preferred but not required).
β’ Familiarity with 5G roaming and VoLTE roaming, including S8HR and SMS over IP (preferred but not required).
β’ Knowledge of HSS/HLR, PCRF, and OCS functions (preferred but not required).
β’ Working knowledge of GSMA roaming procedures and documentation, such as IR.21, IR.24, IR.35, IR.38, and IR.92 (preferred but not required).
β’ Comfortable communicating in English during meetings and in asynchronous settings.
β’ Fully remote work arrangement.
