This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia, +1 more country.
• Carry out the installation and configuration of autonomy stacks on AMRs at manufacturing sites.
• Integrate and validate hardware components, such as LiDARs, safety PLCs, motor drivers, and onboard computing systems.
• Set up and troubleshoot networking and communication systems, utilizing ROS-based or comparable architectures.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to confirm AMR functionality, safety, and performance prior to shipment.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve integration issues related to hardware and software in collaboration with factory engineering teams.
• Work closely with internal engineering and deployment teams to ensure alignment on system quality and technical specifications.
• Keep detailed records of installations, FAT reports, issue logs, and technical documentation.
• Act as the engineering liaison for partner customization requests and technical coordination related to deployments.
• Assist with hardware bring-up, integration testing, simulation, and R&D activities during non-FAT periods.
• Participate in engineering change requests and initiatives for continuous improvement across robotics systems and processes.
• Travel regularly to Shenzhen and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in Hong Kong and Malaysia.
• Maintain engineering best practices, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols throughout the AMR production lifecycle.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in AMR, mobile robotics, or industrial automation settings.
• Solid understanding of robot hardware, including motor controllers, encoders, LiDARs, and sensors.
• Proficient in Linux, ROS, C++, and Python for robotics software development and integration.
• Practical experience in robot system integration, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Familiarity with networking and industrial communication protocols, such as CAN, Modbus, and similar systems is a plus.
• Previous experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, or on-site deployment activities is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Mandarin (both spoken and written) to effectively collaborate with local teams and manufacturing partners in Shenzhen.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently to Shenzhen (up to 60% of the time).
