This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Oversee and guide a team of QA testers throughout daily testing operations.
• Allocate testing responsibilities according to project priorities, risk factors, and key milestones.
• Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level QA team members through constructive coaching and feedback.
• Assist in establishing testing standards, workflows, and industry best practices.
• Work closely with Production to ensure adherence to testing schedules and milestone preparedness.
• Develop and implement thorough test plans, test cases, and strategies for regression testing.
• Supervise functional, gameplay, compliance, and compatibility testing activities.
• Identify, document, reproduce, and prioritize bugs utilizing tracking tools such as Jira.
• Ensure that bugs include clear reproduction steps, severity evaluations, and necessary documentation.
• Confirm bug fixes and track trends of recurring issues.
• Collaborate with Designers, Engineers, Artists, and Producers to enhance development quality.
• Engage in sprint planning, milestone assessments, and discussions on release readiness.
• Champion player experience and usability throughout all phases of development.
• Clearly communicate quality risks, obstacles, and testing progress to stakeholders.
• Aid in enhancing QA workflows, reporting structures, and testing efficiency.
• Support the implementation of automation tools and telemetry where applicable.
• Assist with the preparation and submission processes for certification on console platforms.
• Contribute to postmortems and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in game QA, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or senior role.
• Experience in testing PC and Console games across various development cycles.
• Strong familiarity with bug tracking systems like Jira, TestRail, or equivalent tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong skills in organization and prioritization in fast-paced settings.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with both technical and creative teams.
