This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Take ownership of the overall quality of the program by setting quality standards and providing oversight across Agile teams.
• Lead and mentor QA data and automation engineers.
• Provide daily guidance for QA engineers within Cormac and partner organizations.
• Develop and execute test strategies and plans that align with Program Increment objectives.
• Promote the adoption of AI-assisted quality engineering and intelligent test automation.
• Assess AI-enabled testing solutions to enhance coverage, regression testing, root cause analysis, and predictive quality insights.
• Enhance QA processes, automation, resource utilization, delivery predictability, and team efficiency.
• Evaluate end-to-end architecture, business processes, and system dependencies for potential downstream impacts.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Release Train Engineers to ensure adherence to quality standards and Definition of Done compliance.
• Supervise both automated and manual testing, covering functional, regression, performance, load, security, integration, API, and UAT testing.
• Manage the identification, reproduction, triage, documentation, resolution, and root cause analysis of defects.
• Track, measure, and report quality metrics, including defect density, test coverage, pass/fail rates, and escaped defects.
• Create and maintain reusable automation scripts while evolving frameworks such as Page Object Model and BDD/Cucumber with CI/CD integration.
• Enforce CMMI Maturity Level 3 standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct independent quality reviews of contractual deliverables, test artifacts, Section 508 accessibility checks, and traceability matrices prior to government sign-off.
• Identify and escalate quality risks that may impact Program Increment or release commitments, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Over 5 years of comprehensive software quality engineering experience.
• More than 3 years in a leadership role driving functional, API, regression, performance, load, and security testing.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium Grid, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AWS services, including Amazon CloudWatch.
• Capability to independently design and develop complex SQL queries for data validation, mappings, business rules, ETL processes, and reports.
• Experience leading quality engineering across multiple Agile sprint teams and various types of testing such as UI, ETL/data pipeline, reporting, dashboard, data extract, API, accessibility, security, performance/load, and integration.
• Proficient in SQL, Java, Python, Selenium, Cucumber, Selenium Grid, Postman, DBeaver, Databricks, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, AWS CloudWatch, IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Excel, Beyond Compare, XML, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in enforcing QA processes within an organization appraised at CMMI Level 3 or higher.
• Knowledge of Section 508 compliance testing.
• Strong background in reproducing and documenting defects, tracking quality metrics, and conducting root cause analyses.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance.
• Must be a resident and citizen of the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Desired certifications include CSQA, ISTQB Advanced Test Manager / Test Automation Engineer, or CISA.
• Desired Agile credentials include SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner, or Certified ScrumMaster.
• The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of software testing experience and more than 3 years within CMS federal healthcare contracts.
