QA Engineer – Web & Mobile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough testing of the web application, encompassing end-to-end processes, frontend behavior, and backend responses.

• Test iOS and Android mobile applications in accordance with a specified device and OS matrix.

• Comprehend product data flows, API contracts, and system interactions.

• Take ownership of, enhance, and sustain the web Playwright automation suite.

• Develop new automated tests for features undergoing development.

• Investigate automation failures and resolve issues related to test flakiness.

• Validate requests, responses, payloads, status codes, and ensure backward compatibility for older clients.

• Directly query the database to confirm actual system behavior.

• Conduct pressure tests on specifications in collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering prior to development initiation.

• Identify successful paths, edge cases, error states, empty states, overlooked platforms, API version risks, and migration gaps.

• Debug issues to identify root causes and provide actionable insights to developers.

• Reproduce and triage customer issues that reach Engineering.

• Maintain test plans and lists of known issues.

• Utilize AI to minimize repetitive tasks, develop reusable AI skills, implement reasonable small code fixes, and recognize quality enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Three to five years of practical experience in testing web applications.

• Proven ability to identify root causes rather than merely addressing symptoms.

• Hands-on experience with test automation.

• Experience in writing and maintaining UI or API tests using Playwright or a similar framework.

• Capability to navigate a test codebase independently.

• Proficient in reading and understanding API contracts and payloads.

• Ability to execute SQL queries to verify data within a database.

• Familiarity with traffic and API inspection tools, or the capacity to quickly learn them.

• Practical experience in mobile testing.

• Skill in differentiating platform conventions from actual defects.

• Ability to analyze the necessary device and OS coverage.

• Demonstrated collaboration with Design and Product teams during specification processes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Polish and English, at a C2 or native level.

• Experience in testing within a regulated or healthcare-related domain is a plus.

• Familiarity with BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab is advantageous.

• Experience with Sentry or Crashlytics is beneficial.

• Knowledge of accessibility testing (WCAG) is a plus.
