QA Engineer – Software Applications Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Create and implement detailed test plans and cases for both legacy and new system components.

• Design and deploy automated test suites to guarantee system reliability and performance.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.

• Work alongside developers to identify and fix software defects.

• Ensure data integrity during database migrations and system upgrades.

• Carry out security and compliance testing to confirm adherence to government regulations.

• Document and present test results, including comprehensive bug reports.

• Engage in code reviews from a quality assurance standpoint.

• Aid in defining and refining QA processes and methodologies.

• Support the evolving objectives of the team and organization within the overall scope of the position.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, science, or a related field.

• A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in software testing.

• Extensive experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.

• Proven experience in testing web applications and database-driven systems.

• Knowledge of government software development and testing protocols.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

• Proficient in test automation tools and frameworks.

• Solid understanding of the software development life cycle.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work effectively within a team environment.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and requirements.

• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

• Preferred: experience testing Oracle PL/SQL-based systems.

• Preferred: knowledge of NoSQL database testing.

• Preferred: familiarity with microservice testing environments.

• Preferred: experience testing modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Preferred: automation for web application benchmarking and scripted testing.

• Preferred: experience testing systems in a closed-network environment.
