
QA Engineer – Manual and Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +3 more states.
• Create, develop, and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Conduct manual testing on web, mobile, and Windows desktop applications, initially addressing a significant backlog of features and enhancements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, compatibility, and performance testing.
• Assess new features, bug fixes, and releases against both business and technical requirements.
• Ensure software quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Design, construct, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and regression test suites.
• Create automated tests utilizing Ranorex, Mabl, Postman, Selenium, or comparable technologies.
• Broaden automation coverage across essential user workflows.
• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Utilize AI-powered testing tools and automation features.
• Identify, document, replicate, prioritize, and track software defects.
• Work in collaboration with developers to identify root causes and validate solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments and assist in making release readiness decisions.
• Engage in root cause analysis and suggest preventive enhancements.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Technical Support, and cross-functional teams.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Provide estimates for testing, risk assessments, and quality recommendations.
• Advocate for shift-left testing practices and quality engineering best practices.
• Manage test environments, test data, and testing configurations.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, reporting, and collaboration.
• Support testing in cloud and virtualized environments.
• Maintain testing documentation and ensure complete traceability of testing activities.
• Investigate and validate issues reported by customers.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Support teams to troubleshoot production issues.
• Confirm production fixes and assist in release validation activities.
• Over 6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Significant experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Willingness to initially focus on manual testing, transitioning to automation as project priorities change.
• Experience in testing web applications.
• Experience in testing mobile applications.
• Experience in testing Windows desktop applications.
• Practical experience with Ranorex, Mabl, Postman, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Experience in building and maintaining automated regression suites.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with using Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, reporting, and collaboration.
• Experience in high-paced software development environments.
• Deep understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
• Experience in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating within distributed teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with AI-powered testing tools and AI-assisted QA workflows.
• Nice-to-have: ISTQB, ISEB, or equivalent QA certification.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in testing cloud-hosted applications and virtualized environments.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with accessibility, security, and compliance testing.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in healthcare, dental, medical, or other regulated software industries.
• Nice-to-have: Experience working within globally distributed engineering teams.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to Azure cloud environments, VMware, or Hyper-V.
• Nice-to-have: A mindset focused on continuous learning with an interest in emerging QA technologies.
