This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +10 more states.
• Develop and uphold automated validation processes for customer data inputs, transformations, and outputs.
• Replace manual verification methods and ad-hoc scripts with systematic, scalable, automated, and thoroughly documented QA techniques.
• Detect incomplete, inconsistent, inaccurate, or unexpected data and relay issues to stakeholders.
• Examine discrepancies within source data, processing logic, and delivered outputs.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, regression tests, validation rules, and accompanying documentation.
• Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing for software products and data pipelines.
• Triage, reproduce, document, and monitor software bugs reported by customers and internally.
• Convert vaguely defined issue reports into clear, actionable engineering tickets.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Customer Success teams regarding issue severity, expected behavior, and resolutions.
• Develop and enhance QA processes, tools, standards, and operational practices.
• Track recurring defects and data-quality trends, identify root causes, and propose automation or preventative measures.
• Contribute to smaller engineering tickets, product improvements, and technical initiatives.
• Manage protected health information and sensitive data in compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Report directly to the VP of Engineering.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience is necessary.
• Minimum of 5 years in software quality assurance, data quality, test engineering, or a closely related technical role.
• Experience in testing data pipelines, analytics platforms, machine-learning products, or other data-centric applications.
• Proven experience in designing and executing automated API, backend, and end-to-end application tests.
• Familiarity with data-validation frameworks and consistent QA processes.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language utilized for testing, automation, and data validation.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational database management.
• Expertise in automated unit and integration testing frameworks and tools, including Playwright, Selenium, Vitest, and pytest.
• Experience conducting functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Competence in reproducing, isolating, documenting, and communicating software defects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of ownership and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across technical, product, and customer-facing teams.
