QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Conduct manual testing for both web and mobile applications.

• Design and maintain automated test suites where appropriate.

• Identify, document, track, and validate software defects utilizing bug-tracking tools.

• Work closely with developers to troubleshoot problems and confirm fixes.

• Execute regression, functional, integration, usability, and performance testing.

• Engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release testing activities.

• Ensure that software adheres to quality standards prior to production deployment.

• Continuously enhance QA processes, documentation, and testing methodologies.

• Communicate testing progress, potential risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or QA Engineering.

• Strong grasp of software testing principles and QA methodologies.

• Proven experience in manual testing across web applications.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.

• Experience with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello.

• Understanding of Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.

• Experience in testing REST APIs using tools like Postman is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing is advantageous.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative setting.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Git version control.

• Experience in performance or security testing.

• ISTQB Certification or equivalent QA certification.

• Experience with SaaS platforms or cloud-based applications.
