This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +2 more states.
• Conduct manual testing of new features prior to their release, covering both positive and negative scenarios.
• Lead the preparation for releases and perform post-release testing, including managing code freezes, identifying changes, smoke testing, and regression testing.
• Create and sustain automated test suites for API, web UI, and service-to-service interactions.
• Take ownership of and maintain the proxy and testing environment that simulates production message transmission.
• Ensure test environments are continually updated to incorporate new functionalities and accurately reflect real-world production conditions.
• Reproduce issues encountered by clients and end-users, documenting the steps to replicate, along with trace IDs, log excerpts, and relevant metrics.
• Establish and configure frameworks for performance and load testing.
• Execute scheduled performance and load tests, facilitating the review of results.
• Configure and manage testing and staging environments.
• Organize automated test executions through CI, confirming the integrity of environments, keys, queues, and AWS metrics.
• Collaborate with the product manager during the requirements gathering phase and document manual test cases accordingly.
• Continuously enhance the team's QA processes over time.
• Extensive experience with modern UI and API automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.
• Proficient in writing, reviewing, and independently modifying automation code.
• Strong focus on testing and attention to detail.
• Capable of crafting clear and comprehensive test cases, as well as systematically reproducing bugs.
• Understanding of distributed and event-driven systems, including producer/consumer and pub/sub patterns.
• Knowledgeable about consumer lag, message redelivery and duplication, poison messages, and dead-letter queues.
• Ability to trace logical operations across various services and queues.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Experience with Lambda.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with queue systems, particularly BullMQ or similar.
• Experience with DocumentDB.
• Familiarity with Redis.
• Some understanding of DevOps practices for setting up environments and scheduling test executions.
• Comfortable utilizing AI tools to enhance testing and generate automation code.
• General engineering and scripting capabilities in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Ability to build tools and test harnesses, as well as modify automation code for AI agents.
• Capacity to develop product empathy and grasp real-world application behavior.
• Engagement as a 1099 contractor.
